Seton Hall Releases Nonconference Schedule

Seton Hall is officially Kevin Willard's program now, just for those who still doubted it was. Every player with the exception of senior Fuquan Edwin, who was recruited by Bobby Gonzalez before his unceremonious dismissal, was brought in by the fourth-year coach, who today released a nonconference schedule in which the Pirates will look to erase the stigma from a season in which they finished ahead of only two teams in the Big East.

Willard and the Pirates open their season with a November 2nd exhibition game against Caldwell College at Walsh Gym before officially opening their 2013-14 campaign on November 8th, when they welcome Niagara into the Prudential Center in a preliminary round game in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic. Seton Hall plays another preliminary round game four days later against Kent State before traveling to Mercer on November 16th, with a short turnaround coming two days later when Monmouth comes to the Prudential Center.

Seton Hall gets two games at the Barclays Center in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, first against Oklahoma on November 22nd before facing either Virginia Tech or Michigan State the following night. After that, the Pirates take a seven-day break before a two-game homestand against Fairleigh Dickinson (December 1st) and three-time reigning Northeast Conference champion LIU Brooklyn (December 5th) that precedes what is now a nonconference renewal of the bitter in-state rivalry between Seton Hall and Rutgers, to be contested on December 8th at the RAC in Piscataway.

After the Rutgers game, Seton Hall plays its final four nonconference games at home, starting on December 10th, when NJIT comes to the Prudential Center four days before the Pirates' annual meeting with fellow Garden State adversary Saint Peter's. After that, Eastern Washington comes to Newark on December 22nd, with Lafayette invading Walsh Gym on December 27th.
