Jaren Sina and Seton Hall part ways, effective immediately

In the wake of his team's lopsided loss to Georgetown, Kevin Willard refused to address what may be apparent team chemistry issues in the Seton Hall locker room.

Now, the Pirates' head coach will need to discuss depth issues.

In a story that was broken by Jerry Carino, who does an outstanding job covering Seton Hall for Gannett New Jersey and the New Jersey Hoops Haven site, it was announced that both Seton Hall and Sina, a 6-3 sophomore guard, had agreed to part ways, effective immediately.

Sina had been averaging 7.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game for the Pirates, whose loss Tuesday night dropped them to 15-9 on the year, and 5-7 in Big East play. Originally a starter to begin the season, Sina's playing time slowly dissipated with the emergence of freshman Khadeen Carrington and the return of highly touted rookie Isaiah Whitehead from a foot injury. Reasons for the separation were not publicized.

Originally a commit to the University of Alabama, Sina later pledged to Northwestern, only to commit to Seton Hall when Fred Hill joined Willard's staff. Hill had initially helped recruit Sina while an assistant to Bill Carmody at Northwestern.

More information on Jaren Sina will be posted when it becomes available.
