Glenn Braica previews 2017-18 St. Francis Brooklyn campaign

Although five more months remain before the 2017-18 season officially tips off, the college basketball world continues to tilt on its axis, with the start of preseason practices ever closer on the horizon.

Among the local schools hoping for a better result in the coming year is St. Francis Brooklyn, now three months removed from a 4-27 season that, for the Terriers, is one in which the small college of big dreams hopes is merely an aberration on the ledger of one of the Northeast Conference's perennial contenders.

Our Andy Lipton recently had the chance to catch up with head coach Glenn Braica, who graciously took the time to assess last season and turn the page to the fall. The eighth-year mentor sheds further light on the offseason activity on the corner of Remsen and Court, as well as some of the newcomers to the Terrier program, in the following video:

  1. Having a healthy Glenn Sanabria and a more experienced Rasheem Dunn will help a lot this coming season. Both incoming freshman guards, Chauncey Hawkins and Jalen Jordan, were All-State selections in NJ and GA, respectively, and should be a great help backing up Sanabria and Dunn in the guard-oriented NEC. The addition of 6-9 Cori Johnson, who was injured last year, should help bulk up the front line and 6-7 JUCO transfer Milija Cosic could be a real presence there as well. Gunnar Olafsson, 6-3 senior wing, made the Icelandic National Team this year and that international experience should be a definite plus.
